Art Deco design has been given a contemporary refresh in an apartment in Kiev, designed by Denis Rakaev.

Sumptuous shades of grey give this apartment a luxurious twist on monochrome, conveyed by the deep palette and rich textures.

Soft furnishings and drapes complement the clean lines of this scheme, providing a contrast to the Twenties style geometry on display.

Wall art, such as the striking canvas pictured, continues the dynamic grey theme, giving the apartment an illusion of texture and depth, but it’s the three-dimensional wooden panels that really stand out.

Subtly echoing the glistening wooden floor throughout the scheme, these panels are often used floor to ceiling, helping to define the space and adding an unusual dimension of texture.
